2018 International Social and Behavior Change Communication Summit
The 2018 Summit Declaration articulated a set of common principles with a call to action for governments, donors and others to embrace, institutionalize and invest in SBCC. It called on the SBCC community to work together to inform, engage and empower individuals, households and communities to demand and participate in change and in improving their own lives.
The topics covered were manifold from gender, youth and social norms to nutrition, family planning and climate change. There were talks on behavioral economics, big data, entertainment-education, human-centered design, measurement and evaluation and so much more.
2016 International Social and Behavior Change Communication Summit
The first International SBCC Summit was conceived with a bold vision: to bring together the global community of SBCC organizations, practitioners and researchers to advance the field of behavior change. And this vision was realized.
For four days in February 2016, more than 750 SBCC professionals from over 50 countries came together in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to share knowledge and lessons learned, to forge new partnerships and strengthen friendships, to disseminate recent research and tools, to generally enhance the science and art of SBCC for global health and development, and to show the world that our community exists and it is strong.
